Preferences and Notes
Jun. 30th, 2012 02:29 pm Marluxia comes in two general flavors when I play him-- the typical heartless Nobody version and a human version.
All threads at TLH are presumed to be Nobody Marluxia, unless otherwise noted in the thread.
Nobody Marluxia:
Is mostly exactly what you would expect, if you're familiar with canon. He's ruthless, cruel and sadistic, as well as being charming when he wants to be. He's a master manipulator and has no ability to feel affection or remorse. He can, and often does, use the fact that he looks rather feminine and weak to his advantage and will happily play the part of victim for someone else, if he thinks there's something to be gained by it. He has a high appreciation for the artistic value of things, even if he cannot truly appreciate beauty.
I don't intend to god-mod or anything with him, but please respect the fact that he is VERY good at hiding what he is truly thinking, able to ape emotions with a fair amount of success, and equally good at guessing what other people are thinking and feeling. I'm quite happy to play into any mind/emotion reading characters, or anything else that would be able to sense his lack of a heart, but immediately just being able to see right through his various ruses is the quickest way to get me to drop a thread like a hot rock.
The main theme for his character as a Nobody is cunning and deceit.
Marluxia will NOT take well to running into other Organization XIII members while in The Love Hotel, so tag at your own risk (although I <3 castmates, Marluxia DOES NOT)
Human Marluxia:
(Depending on the thread, the human Marluxia may be slightly different from what's described to fit the theme of the thread appropriately-- but this paints a good general picture.)
Human Marluxia does possess a heart and human emotions and has since birth. He's a bit less ruthless than his Nobody counterpart, but he's still sadistic and cunning, and gets off on both power and pain. He's actually got a sense of humor (dark though it is) and is capable of feeling bad for his actions and being kind, though he is neither with any regularity. He enjoys power games and control, usually with him as the dominant party. It occasionally amuses him to submit and when he does, he does so willingly. He has a high appreciation for artistry and will occasionally do things just because he knows they'll make him look good.
The main theme for his character as a human is power and charm.
Powers:
Powers are available to Marluxia in both forms, though he is much, much less likely to use them in his human form, unless the scenario is one where everyone has powers.
Some powers are based on headcanon. I regret nothing.
Marluxia can grow and control plants of all kinds, but primarily flower bearing plants. He can use those plants, as well as anything floral, to assist him in his various manipulations and control games through scent. As befitting his title of Graceful Assassin, he sits on the line between life (his flowers) and death, and can also pull his weapon, a giant scythe, out of thin air to defend himself if necessary. He may be able to sense people who have a high concentration of either life or death within them, or maybe be able to tell if people fall outside that spectrum (vampires, undead, beings who cannot die or will live forever, etc). Though he may be able to sense this, it is not likely that he would know anything about them other than that they seemed "off".
He can also theoretically control creatures of darkness (other, weaker Nobodies) but he rarely does so.
